Science Communication

Effectively communicating the results of our science to the public is of paramount importance for publicly funded researchers. For this reason, and many others, I have taken many opportunities to communicate mine and others research in an accessible manner.

My interest largely focuses on the written word, which has allowed me to gain many years of experience writing about cutting-edge astronomy

During my PhD I started to develop this interest by editing several issues of the Leicester post-graduate research magazine, Frontier; writing for Massive Science; and writing and editing monthly articles covering novel astronomical discoveries for Astrobites

This experience then landed me a freelance position at Advanced Science News in April 2022.

Throughout my communication journey, I have written numerous pieces including news articles, in-depth features and profiles on influential academics. You can find samples of my writing by follow the links dotted throughout this page. I have also included some exemplar pieces below.
